![]() ![]() I trade with friends and neighbors and even print coupons online. Unfortunately, I forget to grab them and end up paying full price for something. I’ve gone through phases where I try to find every coupon possible. I pride myself in clipping coupons and making good choices at the store. Then there are the times that I’m not frugal enough. I miss out on awesome opportunities to connect at conferences because the costs of getting there from Iowa just seem too high. Even decisions I make regarding travel are focused around spending as little as possible. DH says sometimes I’m too cheap for my own good. I clip coupons to save money at the store. We shop at thrift stores and find awesome games and clothes. That’s just one example of where I choose to save money. However, it is mostly because I can’t stand paying $4 for something that costs around a dollar for two liters at the grocery store. That is partially because it is healthier than pop. Well, I’m all stocked up for my next trip (LOL…knee humor) and I’m planning to use some of the money I’ve been saving to head to another of my favorite places…Savannah! Do you use paperless coupons? Are you saving for anything specific? (One of my mid-long term savings is for a new fridge.When we go to restaurants, I usually order water. The happy part is that even though my fall would have made Jim Carrey think he could improve his physical comedy, I didn’t break anything, just cuts and bruises. ![]() I also tore the knee out of my favorite denim capris. On the last day of our trip, I took a spectacular fall over an uneven sidewalk that was uprooted by these gorgeous trees and cut up my knee. It was sad that I needed to buy Bactine but at least I saved $1 using the paperless coupons. YAY! We really go through that soap at our house. It was $2 each and there was a $1 coupon off of 2. I also caught a great deal on that foaming soap. Woo hoo! (I like saving money but I only buy Morton’s salt. 59 by using a Walgreens paperless coupon. I know he can whip us up an awesome meal from one of the first chefs he ever watched on TV, Justin Wilson. It brought him this cookbook back from New Orleans. My husband is a great cook, so we also save money by eating at home a lot. I LOVE it! There was a coupon on that too. I tried the Walgreens brand lip balm in that green round container. That’s just to keep any stray hairs at bay. Awesome! I finally bought a pair of tweezers for my center console. Thankfully, my car door perfectly holds them. They are part of my “must haves” for traveling. Here are some things I saved on last week at Walgreens. I LOVE THAT!!! I save money AND it only takes a few seconds of my time. I have Walgreens scan my synced Balance Rewards card from my phone and all my coupons come off the total. Simply sync your Balance Rewards membership to the Mobile App to get started. You can scan your Balance Rewards Card (via the App on your phone, the actual card or by punching in your phone number) at checkout and the coupons you chose are automatically applied. To help me save money, I’ve been clipping coupons the EASY WAY… paperless coupons! For example, I use the Walgreens Mobile App to add manufacturer eCoupons directly to my Balance Rewards account. YAY! (We went to the beach too! See top photo.) ![]() I couldn’t have done it without having saved some money because I didn’t use a credit card for anything. We had the best time! We took a tour, ate…everything and even swung by a casino in Biloxi on our way back to Mobile. I hadn’t been in a long time and she had never been. My daughter was helping out at a college orientation in Mobile, Alabama and when she was off for a day we swung over to New Orleans for a visit. After all, it’s saving money that makes doing extra things possible…like the things my daughter and I did last week. I was glad to have my time back but whenever I was shopping I couldn’t help but be nagged by the thought that there was probably a coupon available to clip for a purchase I was about to make. It took so much of my time that I found myself doing it less and less until I finally quit altogether. Honestly, it probably took me more than half a day. I spent half a day each Sunday going through the paper cutting out coupons, organizing them, matching them with sales flyers and making my list.
